Local food love / by Esther Loopstra

I decided to take on the 100 day project by Ella Luna in which you choose to do something, anything creative for 100 days. I thought that since I've already started trying to sketch what I eat every night, that this collaboration would help. And it definitely has. And I've realized something... social media is friendly.

That sounds weird but it actually warms my heart to put my drawings out into the world and get such a great response. I like to feature local restaurants because their food delights me so much and I would love for everyone to know about them. And in return they have been so happy that I featured them and send me back lots of social media love.

I've really just begun to delve into this whole world of instagram and twitter and I must admit I've had mixed feelings about it in the past. However, it really feels good to do something genuine, and something that I truly care about, which is health, food and supporting our local community and other small businesses. So, thanks everyone for all the love and lets keep going!

This salad from PCC Market was as delicious as it was beautiful! Made with golden beets, cucumbers, carrots, garlic and lime juice. I want some more right now - addicting!

Tacos Chukis is an authentic Mexican street food joint in Capitol Hill. Their tacos are some of the BEST I've had in Seattle!

Tutta Bella is a wonderful Italian eatery that features very authentic Neapolitan style pizza (p.s. It's better than some of the pizza we had in Italy!) They also have a great happy hour!
